         Atlantica
The geographic international trading corridor
that runs from Buffalo, New York through
the Northeastern United States to Atlantic
Canada. This region is naturally tied together
by similarities in geography, economic trends,
trading patterns, common problems &
experiences, and politics.

Historically, this capital intensive, trade
oriented region of Atlantica was an economic
powerhouse. Trade was conducted following
the natural north-south shipping routes with
Upper and Lower Canada, the United States,
the Caribbean, Europe, Northern Africa and
parts of Asia until, in 1867, the policies of the
Confederation shifted trade to much smaller
markets in an east-west route to the center of
Canada. Atlantica has struggled for the past
century under this program watching as
capital and resources were diverted away
from the traditional coastal routes.

Today within this zone there are 23 border
crossings, 11 major truck gateways and 7
major rail gateways.  Business and
government leaders in Atlantica have begun a
dialogue to re-establish the Atlantica trade
corridor to its once vibrant state.  Central to
the focus of these discussions is a shared
concern for the preservation of the natural
beauty that holds such appeal and comprises
so much of the character of life in the region.

can add significantly to its value by taking steps to improve energy conservation knowing that it
will also minimize the impact it has on the surrounding environment. We can help with
thousands of cost-effective, energy conscious solutions customized for your specific
circumstances.

If you're thinking of building a home Atlantica GreenSource has access to some of the most
beautiful sites in the region. We work with you every step of the way to design and build an
elegant GREEN home that leaves the beauty of the natural environment undisturbed.

The company began full project operations in early 2007 with the acquisition of a 28 acre parcel of
waterfront land with two existing homes purchased to serve as a showcase for the work of the
company. The homes are located on two adjoining lots that abut a 340 acre conservation area
'down river' in the Red Beach section of Calais.

We chose the property because of the relatively high degree of energy efficiency of the existing
structures and then designed a complete program of renovation and upgrades to create the
Atlantica GreenSource Corporate Guest Residence.

In addition to being a 'working model' to market the company's capabilities the corporate guest
residence also serve
d as a seasonal retreat for staff, partners and clients who visit Maine in the
warmer months and on holidays throughout the year.

In the successive pages of this site you will find some photographs of the property and the
residence which consists of the Main House and The Studio. The natural scenery of the area
together with the mature landscaping and formal gardens that surrounds the residence are truly
unique.

Network can add value and increase savings on your next GREEN home project in Down East
Maine.
